Resident Engineer

Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various engineering projects, with a particular focus on highway and road engineering. This role is a perfect match for an individual who has a deep understanding of project acquisition and delivery and is passionate about contributing to the development of infrastructure in our communities.
Responsibilities:- Oversee the planning, design, and construction of highway and road engineering projects.
- Lead project acquisition and delivery, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate and collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and other engineering professionals.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to the project team, and resolve any engineering issues that may arise.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on the progress of projects to senior management and clients.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations in highway and road engineering.
- Implement risk management processes to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with the projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) certification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in highway and road engineering with 10 years overall, with a proven track record in project acquisition and delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and safety standards.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HEC-RAS.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Registered PE in California.
