About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Local Driver to join our team at Carlile Transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate safely and comply with all established HSSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct pre-trip, mid-trip, and post-trip inspections, reporting any defects.
- Drive responsibly and adhere to speed limits and all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate driver e-logs and e-maintenance logs.
- Provide outstanding customer service during pick-ups and deliveries.
- Secure cargo for transport, verify proper placarding for HAZMAT, and prepare bills of lading.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the truck cab, trailer, windows, and mirrors.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch to receive accurate instructions and report any safety hazards or incidents.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and complete emergency roadside repairs if needed.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight, spot and park trucks, and assist at the warehouse.
- Operate specialty equipment, including bulkers, tankers, and ISO containers, as well as specialty hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Requirements
- Class A Commercial Driver's License with a valid Medical Card.
- Hazardous Materials Endorsement is required and must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Must pass all Pre-Employment Screenings.
