Laundry Attendant Job Description

About the Role:

The Homewood Suites Goldsboro is seeking a Laundry Attendant to join our team. This is a first-shift position with shifts available 7 days a week, including weekends. The starting hourly rate is $13.00, and additional benefits include a quarterly bonus plan, 401k with Employer match, and the option to be paid daily through DailyPay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent guest service in a courteous and professional manner, adhering to LBA standards of friendly hospitality.
  • Maintain the laundry and facilities in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the laundry and the usage and organization of supplies.
  • Sort and treat soiled linens and terry, maintaining records of damaged or stained items.
  • Operate washers and dryers, cleaning lint traps and wiping down machines as needed.
  • Fold and stock clean terry and linen, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience in similar capacities, such as lodging, housing, hospitals, and care facilities, is helpful but not mandatory.
  • Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, and reach.
  • Must be able to see and hear.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English, with the ability to communicate in another language being helpful.
  • Must display professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness at all times.

Working Conditions:

Standing, walking for long periods of time while maintaining a friendly professional image.

Positions for Possible Advancement:

The next step for this position is in a training capacity or in the front office, maintenance, or in a food and beverage department. The ability to teach skills and competencies will enhance leadership skills in preparation for further promotion.
