About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Materials Engineer to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects by assessing and verifying the properties and quality of materials used in construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct testing and observe special inspections of construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and other relevant materials, to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Review construction plans and specifications to ensure alignment with project objectives before field observations.
  • Document and manage field activities, recording detailed observations and testing results during project execution.
  • Assist in drafting reports and proposals for small projects, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in assessments and documentation.
  • Maintain daily communication with management, contractors, and clients to ensure project transparency and provide regular progress updates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Construction, or a closely related field.
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic working knowledge of construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn commercial software applications.
  • Ability to obtain International Code Council (ICC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), and/or Department of Transportation (DOT) certifications in the fields of aggregate, asphalt, soil, reinforced concrete, and masonry.
