Staff Development Specialist

As a Registered Nurse Preceptor at Carilion Clinic, you will play a vital role in the orientation and continuing education of our staff. This position requires a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills to effectively mentor and guide new employees.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized orientation plans in collaboration with the Education Consultant.
- Assist with documentation and validation of orientation records and competency assessments.
- Provide timely and ongoing feedback to orientees, Education Consultants, and Managers.
- Assist with annual learning needs assessments and continuing education initiatives.
- Coordinate competency validation and staff development programs.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Two years of experience in a clinical discipline.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- BSN preferred; CPR and ACLS certifications required.
- Computer skills for electronic medical records (EPIC) and other relevant software.
