Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst with strong expertise in business process analysis and data modeling to join our AWS Cloud data transformation team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in mapping business processes to data models, defining data transformation rules, and ensuring data quality throughout our data lakehouse development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Process Understanding:
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of business processes, particularly within the financial domain.
    • Document and analyze business processes to identify key data requirements and dependencies.
    • Translate business needs into comprehensive data models that support data lakehouse architecture in AWS Cloud.
  • Data Modeling and Mapping:
    • Work closely with data architects and engineers to map business processes to logical and physical data models.
    • Develop and maintain mapping documents that clearly define the relationships between source systems, data models, and target AWS Cloud data structures.
    • Extract and analyze complex data relationships from existing data models in operational systems to ensure accurate representation in the AWS data lakehouse.
    • Ensure that data models align with business objectives and are optimized for performance and scalability.
  • Data Transformation Rules:
    • Define and document data transformation rules that govern how data is extracted, transformed, and loaded into the AWS data lakehouse.
    • Collaborate with data engineers to implement these transformation rules using AWS tools and services, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
    • Regularly review and update transformation rules to reflect changes in business processes or data requirements.
  • Data Quality Assurance:
    • Develop and implement data quality rules to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data within the data lakehouse.
    • Monitor data quality metrics and work with relevant teams to address any data quality issues.
    • Establish data validation processes to verify that data transformation and integration efforts meet business standards.
  • Documentation and Communication:
    • Create clear, detailed documentation of business process mappings, data transformation rules, and data quality standards.
    • Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Provide support and training to business users on data models, transformation processes, and data quality practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analysis, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in data analysis, with a strong focus on business process mapping and data modeling.
  • Skills: Proven experience in extracting and analyzing complex data relationships from existing operational system data models. Experience in documenting data transformation rules and mapping documents. Familiarity with AWS Cloud services and data lakehouse architecture. Strong understanding of financial domain business processes and data requirements. Experience in developing and implementing data quality rules and monitoring processes. Proficiency in SQL and data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
