Project Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage projects from initiation to closure, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource allocation plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize project requirements and deliverables.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and changes, and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project management office (PMO).
Project Portfolio Management:
  • Work with the Director of Project Management and leadership team to prioritize and schedule key strategic projects.
  • Assess and leverage the organization's project capacity to maximize business value.
  • Maintain visibility into individual project progress and provide regular updates to leadership.
Program Management:
  • Assist in maintaining the project management charter.
  • Develop and maintain project management tools, education, and structural support processes.
  • Work with leadership and business unit stakeholders to develop, deploy, and monitor standard PM processes.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience planning and managing projects of various sizes that involve technology.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role that required good decision-making, problem-solving, influencing others, and facilitation skills.
  • Working knowledge of process mapping principles, practices, and tools.
  • Working knowledge of change management principles and experience in deploying change management methodologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of basic technology systems and structures.
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience in project management.
  • PMP or Agile certification preferred.

  • Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills as demonstrated by mastery of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment, and transparency.
