Electronics/Electrical Engineer Job Description

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Electronics/Electrical Engineer to join our team in Des Plaines, IL. As a key member of our Engineering Services Terminal team, you will apply your expertise to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) facility modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop project plans, project scopes, schedules, costs, and resource requirements
  • Design and develop drawings, specifications, and risk management documents
  • Coordinate with facility stakeholders from Technical Operations and Air Traffic organizations
  • Manage and participate in on-site cutovers, testing, and restoration of facilities
  • Track and reconcile Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI)
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience or Master's with 6 years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Engineering Scheduling tools and applications
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD / MicroStation or similar tools
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Assoc (NFPA) standards, and National Airspace System Equipment Tower
  • Knowledge of OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards
  • Knowledge of NAS facilities such as ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, RCAG
