We are currently seeking experienced nursing professionals for 13-week assignments within our Travel Staffing team at Vidant Health North Hospital. Opportunities are available across various inpatient units, including Medical Step Down, Med/Surg, Emergency Room, ICU, and more.

Position Summary

The Travel Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other established professional standards. Nursing care will be aligned with Vidant Health's policies and procedures.

The role involves the provision and coordination of nursing care, which includes:
  • Collecting and analyzing assessment data
  • Identifying expected outcomes
  • Developing a collaborative plan of care with patients and interdisciplinary team members
  • Implementing interventions to achieve desired outcomes
  • Evaluating patient progress and documenting care
Special attention will be given to the unique needs of patients and their families, ensuring age-specific considerations are met.

The Travel Registered Nurse will also promote effective teamwork and collaborate with healthcare professionals to address the needs of patients throughout their care journey. Responsibilities include delegating tasks as appropriate, in accordance with the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Diploma in Nursing, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or higher
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification required
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidentially with patients and team members
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet the 24-hour needs of patients
  • Proficient in PC-based applications
Compensation Package
  • Base pay: up to $70 per hour for all travel nursing positions
  • 1.5x base hourly rate for overtime and holiday pay
  • Additional $3.00 per hour for Stand-by pay
  • Additional $2.00 per hour for Charge/preceptor pay

We are looking for skilled nurses to join the Travel Staffing team at Vidant Health North Hospital, a 204-bed acute care facility. Opportunities are available across various inpatient units based on operational needs, including Medicine, Emergency, Critical Care, Surgery, and more.

Additional Position Details
  • 13-week assignments with the option to extend based on managerial discretion
  • Travel team members are expected to:
    • Float to other areas as necessary
    • Rotate shifts to meet departmental needs
    • Attend unit staff meetings and complete required training
    • Utilize the scheduling system for managing shifts and time-off requests
    • Maintain ACLS certification as required for intensive or progressive care
    • Not be currently employed by Vidant Health or separated for 92 days in good standing
  • Organizational policies apply to internal travel team members, in addition to specific program guidelines.
