Accounting Operations Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Operations Specialist to join our team at North Branch Construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on financial analysis and reconciliation.
The Accounting Operations Specialist will be responsible for performing general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization. This includes preparing monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements, maintaining the general ledger, coding invoices, setting up new accounts, reconciling accounts, and closing the monthly books.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for reconciling bank accounts at least monthly, verifying deposits, and addressing inquiries from banks. Additionally, they will reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, client accounts, and other financial accounts; manage accounts receivable collections, verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable, and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
The Accounting Operations Specialist will provide outside auditors with assistance, gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit. They will also file tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies, coordinate with ERP vendor to maintain accounting systems, recommend updates to enhance the accounting software, and manage the purchasing and invoicing system.
Qualifications- At least three years of related experience required. Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field, preferred.
- Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and accounting software.
- Must be able to learn other accounting systems.
