Packaging Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Engineer to join our team at Solomon Page. As a Packaging Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of packaging solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage package development requests from conception through launch, ensuring timely execution and high-quality results.
- Qualify packaging through line trials and various testing requirements, leading pre and post line trial meetings to ensure successful outcomes.
- Create and maintain project timelines to support the timely execution of each project, working closely with Sales and Customers to develop new products.
- Interface with Operations, Lab, Quality, Customer Project Managers, and Estimating to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Use SPC and interpret run data to inform packaging decisions and optimize processes.
- Design and create SolidWorks and ArtiosCAD drawings for customer specification and sign-off, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Conduct unit cavity data reviews and make recommendations prior to moving into production, ensuring high-quality packaging solutions.
- Provide technical guidance for packaging, materials, and technologies, actively participating in identifying new and improved processes to reduce turnaround time.
- Qualify new materials and components as part of the standard product offering, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 - 4 years in proven package development project work/quality experience, preferably in the cosmetics, consumer goods, or related field.
- Proficient in using MS office, SolidWorks Software, and ArtiosCAD knowledge in AutoCAD, with the ability to build presentations on Excel and/or PowerPoint.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of our organization and our suppliers.
- Good organizational skills to manage documentation, materials, and information, with a strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
- Technical competency in analysis of geometric objects in 2- and 3-dimensions, including understanding of fill capacity, tolerances, fit and finish of packaging components and subcomponents.
- Ability to work independently, initiate and lead tasks within defined projects in a fast-paced environment, resolving and/or escalating issues properly.
- Assume lead role of special projects as needed, demonstrating strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
