Electrocardiogram Technician

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Electrocardiogram Technician.

• Shift: Night
• Location: Fairfax, Virginia

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretations by analyzing and recording atrial and ventricular rates and rhythms. They will also measure EKG waveforms, using accepted standards and guidelines, to determine appropriate treatment of arrhythmias and immediate intervention of life-threatening situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Continuously observe monitor screens for proper waveform on each telemetry patient to prevent loss of signal and ensure accurate capture of potential cardiac events.
• Recognize, record, and inform the nurse of abnormalities/changes in patient waveforms.
• Troubleshoot and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Admit and discharge patients out of the telemetry system in accordance with unit policy.
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Minimum Education: High School or GED
• Experience: Prior telemetry monitoring experience/EKG monitoring in a hospital setting REQUIRED
