Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Seasonal Operations Specialist. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our grain handling and elevator facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for grain handling, including incoming, stored, and outgoing grain, to maintain quality and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain the grain handling equipment, rolling stock, and facilities to ensure they are in good working condition and meet company standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our customers, ensuring a positive experience and building strong relationships.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and vehicles, and ensure they are properly maintained and serviced.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve operational goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in a related agricultural field preferred.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Understanding and willingness to learn grain handling and mechanical diagnosis, service, repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment and vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use computer to enhance grain handling.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
Working Conditions

Occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions, noisy conditions, and working conditions that may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.

Work at varying heights, including climbs on grain bins, legs, etc., and lift up to lbs. as required.

FS GRAIN is a leading grain company with 80 full-time employees operating in Northern Illinois. We operate 19 facilities with a combined storage capacity of 40 million bushels and access to multiple grain markets.
