Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team at Connecticut Children's. As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to hospitalized children, working collaboratively with primary care providers, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:- Assess, evaluate, diagnose, and treat well newborns and pediatric observation patients and inpatients on the pediatric inpatient unit.
- Provide consultative services in the Emergency Department.
- Work collaboratively with Primary Care Providers to ensure safe patient handoffs.
- Perform and/or order clinically appropriate procedures for each patient.
- Prescribe clinically appropriate medication and treatment for each patient.
- Refer patients to other physicians, including specialists and other healthcare providers, as necessary.
- Keep and maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records.
- Use and promote evidence-based clinical practice.
- Participate in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital.
- Participate in teaching and learning in an integrated academic model.
- Practice preventive health care through patient and family education and child health advocacy.
- Participate in peer review, development, and consultation.
- Participate in special programs and services as assigned.
- Academic/scholarly work and division citizenship as per division chief.
- Participate in 24-hour Pediatric Hospitalist Call Coverage.
- MD, DO degree.
- Board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
- Licensed and registered, and in good standing under the laws of the State of Connecticut and New York.
- Active and Unrestricted D.E.A. Certificate.
- PALS, NRP certifications required. ACLS, BLS preferred.
