Job Title: Virtual Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual Special Education Teacher to join our team at VocoVision. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing tailored support and instruction to students with diverse learning needs in a virtual learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities through virtual platforms, ensuring accessibility and accommodation as needed.
  • Adapt instructional materials and teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other stakeholders to support student learning and progress, and to address individual concerns or challenges.
  • Utilize data-driven assessment tools to monitor student progress, track goals, and make instructional decisions.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, independence, and self-advocacy.
  • Provide ongoing communication and feedback to students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in special education, virtual instruction, and technology integration.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student performance, attendance, and compliance with IEP goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with school administrators and other educators to ensure alignment with school policies, procedures, and curriculum standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid Delaware teaching license/certification in Special Education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in special education, preferably in a virtual or online setting.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices, including IDEA, ADA, and Section 504.
  • Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and conducting assessments to inform instructional decision-making.
  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency with virtual learning platforms, educational software, and assistive technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of special education.
