Job Summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing basic respiratory care to patients, as prescribed by physician, and within established standards and practices.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patient needs and provide type and frequency of service consistent with patient status.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of respiratory active drugs and their indications, actions, interactions, and adverse reactions.
  • Perform and document diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in keeping with departmental standards.
  • Troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ensure appropriate function.
  • Provide timely reports and respond to requests for care.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the Respiratory Care area.
  • Identify ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of Respiratory Care.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of a Respiratory Care Program from an accredited American Medical Association (AMA) program.
  • Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. (NBRC).
  • Must have a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from either the Texas Department of State Health Services OR Texas Medical Board.
  • Must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card prior to hire and/or placement in job.
