Operations Manager

An Outdoor Lighting Perspectives Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the company's success by aligning with department and company goals. This position requires a leader who can motivate staff to meet and exceed their personal and professional goals while maintaining a positive and rewarding work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Supervision: Direct supervision of 1-2 employees, with heavy involvement in the hiring, orientation, training, development, performance management, leadership, and advancement of all staff.
- Goal Setting and Feedback: Provides regular and recurring goal setting, mentoring, and feedback to all direct reports.
- Performance Management: Ensures that all employees are formally reviewed at least once per year.
- Leadership Development: Identifies potential leaders and develops them for advancement accordingly.
- Strategic Planning: Continuous strategic planning, including suggested changes to vision and business plans.
- Operational Strategies: Determines operational strategies by conducting needs assessments, capacity planning, and cost/benefit analyses, and establishes productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
- Policies and Procedures: Proactively suggests, creates, or modifies and implements policies and procedures that maintain profitability.
- Performance Reporting: Prepares performance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Professional Development: Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in operations management, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
- Knowledge and Competence: Knowledge and competence in the following dimensions: Staffing and Performance Management; Labor Law Compliance; Teambuilding, Effective Communications; Organizational Planning, Quality Control; Safety; Accountability; Customer Service.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills and human relation skills that positively benefit interaction with staff, partners, and external clientele.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
- Attention to Detail: Must be detailed oriented, able to plan, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Managerial Skills: Excellent managerial skills with an understanding of how to hire employees who fit job requirements.
- Communication Skills: Good comprehension and communication skills, with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through written and verbal communication.
- Coaching and Feedback: Experience in providing effective and documented coaching and feedback, the courage to verbally counsel below expectation employees.
- Judgment and Self-Control: Ability to exercise good judgment and self-control.
- Enthusiasm and Attitude: Enthusiasm, good attitude, trustworthiness, personal integrity, and honesty.
