Job Summary

Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineering Manager to lead the development of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and optimize driving functions for improved safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement development masterplans aligned with corporate business objectives.
  • Perform experiments, analyze data, and create new techniques and evaluations to improve system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software-defined mobility solutions tailored to specific network requirements and use cases.
  • Create technical documentation, design specifications, and best practices guides for software-defined mobility solutions.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with internal teams and stakeholders to foster learning and collaboration.
  • Represent the company with major customers and the public.
  • Provide direction on design and development activities to improve, modify, or design new products.
  • Assign project personnel to specific phases of projects, such as technical studies, product design, and product testing.
  • Direct research and development, quality control, and product modification and improvement activities in alignment with established program objectives.
  • Oversee the review of product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements.
  • Travel to customer locations to support product development and testing.
  • Ensure legal compliance in all engineering product design activities.
  • May be required to supervise the duties of others and provide leadership guidance, performance feedback, and rating.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related area required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years prior related experience with Master's degree and minimum 10 years with Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of development or industry experience in ADAS required.
  • Exposure to automotive engineering, including knowledge of automotive components, embedded systems, ADAS sensors, and ADAS control functions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and present development outcomes to sponsors and customers.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills required.
Working Conditions

Primarily in a professional business office with exposure to testing areas and periodic exposure to manufacturing environments.
