The Satellite Programmer Analyst position will support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Satellite Analysis Branch (SAB). As a key member of our team, you will provide scientific satellite remote sensing analysis to support the detection and tracking of environmental events.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide analysis of satellite imagery, integrated with ancillary datasets, to create briefings and products that enable users to mitigate disasters and environmental hazards.
- Examine and analyze satellite imagery to support the detection and tracking of environmental events.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement new analysis techniques and tools.
- Experience in physical meteorology, remote sensing, oceanography, computer programming, and basic Linux fundamentals.
- M.S. or equivalent experience in meteorology, oceanography, remote sensing science, GIS, or similar areas.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and timely.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
