Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute line plans on a seasonal basis, ensuring that products are consistent with market trends and business strategy.
  • Research and analyze emerging trends and inspiration to inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement design concepts.
  • Supervise and mentor junior designers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
  • Source and develop raw materials, working closely with Product Development to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Communicate design details to Product Development and collaborate with Technical Design to set up specifications for confirmed silhouettes.
  • Partner with Product Development to ensure product execution meets design specifications.
  • Attend weekly fittings and design meetings to stay informed and provide input.
  • Travel to factories as needed to support program development and execution.
Requirements:
  • 9+ years of experience in knitwear design, with a strong understanding of garment construction, knit machines, yarns, trims, and washes.
  • Expert knowledge of knit and woven manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative, and commercial design solutions.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and Illustrator, with experience in Web PDM a plus.
  • Strong hand-sketching skills and a portfolio that showcases your design expertise.
