About the Role

The Structural Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of structural engineers in the design and development of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will entail managing and mentoring team members, coordinating schedules, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products that adhere to Garver's standardization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a team of structural engineers in the design and development of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate schedules and monitor project budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure that all work products meet Garver's standardization.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure that all aspects of project design are properly coordinated.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to ensure that the team is using the latest techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 10+ years of technical experience in structural design engineering, with 2+ years of experience in project/team leadership.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of engineers.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Preferred Attributes
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license in several states.
  • 15+ years of structural engineering design experience, with 5+ years of experience in project/team leadership.
  • Proven experience overseeing structural designs in concrete, masonry, and structural steel, including detailed plans and specifications for major projects.
  • Master's degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Registration as a SE or willingness to take the NCEES Structural Engineer exam within 2 years.
  • Working knowledge of Revit CAD programs.
  • Understanding of structural complexities associated with water and wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team comprised of process, structural, building mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and control disciplines.
