Position Overview:

The Rehabilitative Therapist will deliver direct patient care and contribute to the establishment and maintenance of an Eskaton Rehabilitation Center of Excellence. This role focuses on restoring and enhancing the independence of individuals whose ability to live autonomously has been affected by health issues or injuries.

The compensation for this on-call role is set at $52.00/hour on weekdays and $63.00/hour on weekends. Various factors, including the scope of responsibilities, the candidate's experience, education, job-related skills, and market considerations, may influence the offered salary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals and plans.
  • Administers patient treatments tailored to individual needs, utilizing current therapeutic knowledge in line with Eskaton Rehabilitation Services' clinical protocols.
  • Maintains accurate, thorough, and clear documentation in compliance with Eskaton Rehabilitation Services, regulatory, licensing, payer, and accreditation standards.
  • Exemplifies an interdisciplinary approach to patient care as promoted by Eskaton Rehabilitation Services.
  • Engages in professional development for oneself and peers.
  • Contributes to the reputation of Eskaton Rehabilitation Services as a leading Rehabilitation Center through professional engagement.
  • Communicates effectively with discharge planners, physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team regarding patient care.
  • Collaborates with fellow therapists in local acute care settings and other environments as appropriate.
  • Continues professional growth in areas of clinical expertise through ongoing education, professional literature, and peer interactions.
Qualifications:

Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required. A Master's Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred. A current Physical Therapist license for the state of employment is mandatory, along with current CPR certification. Some facilities may require a valid state driver's license.

Experience: Two to three years of experience in a skilled nursing rehabilitation environment or equivalent is preferred. Rehabilitation experience is essential.

Knowledge: Candidates must possess knowledge of physical therapy evaluations and treatments, as well as an understanding of the principles behind physical modalities used in therapy. Familiarity with prosthetic devices, mobility aids, assistive and resistive devices, and training is necessary. Knowledge of medical terminology and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

The selected candidate must successfully complete Eskaton's post-offer, pre-employment assessments, which include a criminal background check, drug screening, COVID testing, TB screening, and health evaluation.
