Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Surgeon to join our team at Comprehensive Health Services. As a General Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of healthcare professionals in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide preoperative, operative, and post-operative management of patient care
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Coordinate with local hospitals to determine local capabilities and coordinate admission, monitoring, and final disposition
  • Stabilize patients and coordinate evacuation of patients to medevac center or CONUS
  • Provide a U.S. standard of care for our patient care/treatment model
Requirements
  • 3 years minimum experience as a General Surgeon
  • Must have completed General Surgery Residency within the United States or Western country equivalent
  • U.S. or Canadian Board Certified
  • Hold and maintain a current unrestricted U.S. (State) license
  • Have and maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Must have a current U.S. Passport
  • Participate in training, including HIPAA training
  • Recent completion of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) or comparable advanced trauma course featuring "live tissue" or exceptional simulation training is desirable
  • Completion of a trauma fellowship will merit particular consideration
  • All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year
Additional Requirements
  • Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver's License
  • Must have a valid US Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration
  • Requires a favorable security background check and drug screen
  • Must sign an International Assignment Agreement (IAA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the IAA
  • Must be current in all required certifications
  • Shall attend a Pre-deployment Counter Terrorism training course prior to deployment
  • Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English
  • Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the Acuity Medical Management Systems software
Physical Requirements
  • Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be "medically and dentally fit" in accordance with Acuity Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client
  • No conditions that would prevent the wear of personal protective equipment; including protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor, and chemical/biological protective garments or conditions that would prevent the capability of donning, lifting, or carrying of up to 70 lbs. of referenced gear while running to a bunker or protected area in the face of perceived or imminent danger
