Position OverviewKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Foster an engaging, enjoyable, and dynamic atmosphere where the impeccable delivery and execution of service excellence is essential.
  • Supervise staff to maintain the lasix and receiving barn in a sanitary and healthy state.
  • Ensure that all collection protocols are adhered to in accordance with chain of custody standards.
  • Restrict access to the test barn to only those authorized personnel with legitimate business related to a horse designated for testing.
  • Guarantee that the horse designated for testing remains under the constant visual oversight of barn personnel.
  • Designate one individual to manage barn documentation, complete sample cards, and provide labor numbers to employees tasked with sample collection.
  • Confirm that after a successful urine collection, the time of collection is recorded, and the sample is sealed in the presence of the trainer's representative, obtaining the witness's signature for the sealing process.
  • Ensure that samples are stored in a refrigerated or frozen state within a locked or security-sealed container or ice chest until they are transported to the laboratory.
  • Maintain a daily log of sampling activities.
  • Exercise sound judgment when operating equipment around the horses.
  • Exhibit a courteous and helpful demeanor at all times when interacting with the public and cultivate rewarding relationships.
  • Communicate effectively (both in writing and verbally) to promote positive interactions among team members and guests.
  • Uphold professionalism consistently when collaborating with other team members and/or guests.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Preferred experience in handling Thoroughbred Horses.
  • Ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Capable of lifting fifty (50) lbs. without difficulty.
  • Ability to bend, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat, and grasp as necessary.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assignments may cover extensive areas with long walking distances; work environments may experience high volumes, diverse clientele, and noise.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and management.
  • Must be able to wear and feel comfortable in the assigned uniform.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to perform the necessary functions of this position.
