ChristianaCare is in search of a dedicated Echocardiography Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality diagnostic cardiac ultrasound services.

Position Overview

The Echocardiography Specialist will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures as directed by physicians to aid in the identification of cardiovascular conditions. This position also involves contributing to the education of students and Cardiology Fellows within the Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct cardiac ultrasound examinations.
  • Record patient clinical histories and provide technologist insights on the images obtained.
  • Support cardiologists in capturing images and operating equipment during transesophageal echocardiography.
  • Assist in training cardiac ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows during their practical sessions.
  • Participate in an on-call schedule, covering off-hours and weekends as required.
  • Perform pediatric echocardiography when qualified.
  • Exhibit the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver care suitable for patients across all age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree from an accredited cardiovascular technology program.
  • Registry-eligible and must complete the registry to obtain RDCS/RCS certification within the first year of employment.
  • Certification in CPR.
  • Experience with IV saline contrast and Definity contrast.
  • Proficient in Transesophageal echo, stress echo, dobutamine stress echo, and adult echo.
Work Schedule
  • Flexible scheduling options available, including five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts.
  • Availability for holiday and call rotations, with potential weekend coverage.
