Pipe Crew Hillman/Tailman

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Hillman/Tailman. As a key member of our pipe crew, you will play a crucial role in the successful completion of our underground utility installation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the excavation process by trenching and shoring to prepare the work area for pipe installation.
• Handle and position pipes and other materials, ensuring they are in the correct location for installation.
• Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, creating a safe working environment and complying with regulatory requirements.
• Operate equipment as required, such as forklifts or other machinery, to support pipe handling and installation.
• Assist in the inventory management of materials and supplies required for the project, including ordering, tracking, and reporting.
• Support the installation of underground utility systems, ensuring work meets project standards, blueprints, and design specifications.
• Collaborate effectively with the pipe crew, Pipe Crew Foreman, and other team members to complete tasks efficiently.
• Maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors, reporting progress, challenges, and equipment issues as needed.
• Maintain accurate records, including daily work logs, equipment usage reports, safety documentation, and project reports.
• Identify and address operational challenges or issues that may arise during underground utility installation.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Hillman or Tailman in the underground utility construction industry.
• Familiarity with trenching and shoring techniques.
• Commitment to safety and the ability to enforce safety protocols and procedures.
• Proficiency in material handling and equipment operation.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and at different job sites as required.
