Job Overview

As a key member of the Food and Beverage (F&B) Organization at Vail Resorts, the Sous Chef plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Reporting to the Chef, this dynamic individual will be responsible for the overall quality of food and service at a restaurant, ensuring that every guest leaves with a memorable experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with menu execution, production, and delivery to ensure seamless service.
  • Ensure food safety and employee safety across all operations, adhering to HACCP guidelines and Serve Safe Culinary Guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Chef to manage kitchen environment, staff, and food quality, providing guests with an exceptional dining experience.
  • Conduct routine line checks and maintain food quality of all food served and produced.
  • Develop and train culinary teams, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop food service personnel, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in high-volume restaurant operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct management/supervisory experience.
  • Purchasing Systems, MS Office Suite, and POS experience.
  • Serve Safe Certification or equivalent State Issues Food Handler Card.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Culinary Degree.
  • Advanced Culinary Skills.

The expected pay range is $55,000 - $60,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
