Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Operations Coordinator to join our team. As a Security Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the administrative and operational security activities on a specific shift in a residential re-entry center.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision: Directly lead Monitor staff and residents on the shift in the performance of their duties, evaluate their performance, and take corrective or disciplinary action as needed.
- Security Operations: Ensure that resident formal counts are conducted, maintain daily logs, and report any suspected unauthorized activity or absence to the Security Manager or Facility Director.
- Staff Management: Participate in the evaluation of security staff, cooperate and coordinate with the facility training requirements, and verify that assigned employees receive required training.
- Communication: Communicate effectively and coherently to staff, inmates, visitors, and the general public, particularly in situations requiring tact, diplomacy, understanding, fairness, firmness, and good judgment.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare staff logs, disciplinary reports, and other administrative reports using appropriate grammar, and review reports and records produced on the shift.
- Inspections and Surveillance: Conduct inspections of all housing and general use areas to ensure that proper standards, facility operating procedures, and corporate guidelines of security, health, safety, sanitation, and welfare are maintained.
- Emergency Response: Remain alert at all times and react quickly, effectively, and calmly in emergency and other high-stress situations.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: One (1) year as a Monitor I or two (2) years related experience in a similar field, with demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
- Skills: Ability to write legible reports in English in own handwriting, using correct grammar, and ability to plan, motivate, control, schedule, train, and react quickly and appropriately to emergency situations.
- Certifications: Must hold a current and active driver's license.
