Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the troubleshooting and resolution of electrical and control system challenges to minimize operational downtime.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of 6 Controls Technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Engage in major equipment overhauls and safety initiatives with a focus on electrical and control systems.
  • Develop the technical skills of the Controls Technicians, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities for control systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Analyze downtime data and implement corrective measures to enhance system reliability.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts for control systems to prevent operational interruptions.
  • Monitor and document performance metrics for Controls Technicians, including safety and productivity.
  • Manage labor costs effectively, including training and overtime for the Controls Technicians.
  • Ensure that all control systems are maintained by qualified personnel.
  • Oversee the ongoing skills development of the Controls Technicians, keeping accurate training records.
  • Assist with the acquisition and installation of new electrical and control equipment within budget.
  • Implement and uphold safety programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Work towards reducing utility costs and managing supply cost centers efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental and regulatory standards related to control systems.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Services Leader to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
