Job Title: Prototype Specialist

At Inmotion, we are seeking a highly skilled Prototype Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the assembly of prototype motors using various methods and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of prototype electric motors using various methods, including press fitting, shrink fitting, fasteners, and hand tool assembly.
  • Inspection and measurement of component parts using metrology equipment.
  • Troubleshooting problems during and after assembly process of prototypes.
  • Coordination of production of sub-assemblies and machined components with other functional areas and machine shop.
  • Maintenance of accurate inventory of prototype components.
  • Responsible for safe use and storage of tools, fixtures, and test equipment.
  • Determination of component requirements, ordering of required materials, and follow-up on purchase orders.
  • Maintenance of detailed and complete prototype records.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical assembly and electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and motor winding diagrams.
  • Experience using various electrical test methods utilizing Multimeters, Hipotenial testers, Resistance testers, and Surge testers.
  • Ability to use dimensional metrology equipment, including micrometers, calipers, dial gauges, height gages, and various other forms of inspection.
  • Experience performing various electrical connections and proper terminating techniques.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, and managing files and records of prototype builds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 Year degree in Mechanical or similar technical curriculum.
