Respiratory Therapist PRN Seasonal Position

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a PRN seasonal basis. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) certification.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Certificate.
Seasonal employees are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. All positions require 1 year of experience. Three (3) weekend shifts are required each 4-week schedule period. During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee). Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need. Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital. Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy. Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND, D2/ECD, and D3/EVD). Current FT/PT/PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for. Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.

Medical City Heart Hospital has 65+ private patient rooms. The facility provides a wide array of cardiac services. Services include complex vascular and heart surgery and advanced heart failure treatment. We offer minimally invasive vascular surgery and other specialized heart care. The facility has a dedicated cardiac emergency room. Medical City Spine Hospital has 25+ beds. It provides spine care for common spine disorders. Spine care is also provided for rare, hard-to-treat spinal deformities. Those include adult and pediatric scoliosis and spondylolistheses. We offer complex spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical options.
