Creative Financial Staffing is a leading provider of financial staffing solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our team.

Job Summary

The Director of Finance will be responsible for directing and overseeing the overall operation and administration of the accounting, finance, and financial reporting requirements of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs and oversees accounting and audit activities, including preparing and reviewing the recording of accounting transactions, vendor invoice review, vouchering and payment, deposits and cash receipts, recurring and one-time journal entries, monthly closings and invoice preparation.
  • Prepares and coordinates external audits that are required by contracts and regulatory bodies.

Financial Reporting

  • Administers financial reporting system.
  • Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Prepares and reviews specialized program cost reports.
  • Maintains and reports information relative to Contract, Grant, and Regulatory compliance.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or a related field; and five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 5 years accounting and financial reporting management experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant, preferred
  • Public Accounting experience, preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral)
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, and prepare correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed (evening/weekend hours).
  • Knowledge of computers, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the Internet.
  • Must be available to attend meetings and meet the needs of the department/agency throughout the city as needed.
