Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to provide comprehensive care to patients with various cancer diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose conditions, and prescribe medications as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
  • Board certification in Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Eligibility for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of related working experience in oncology or a related field.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and other clinical software systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
