Job Title: Highway Engineer III

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Engineer III to join our Transportation Practice in Tampa, FL. This role will involve working on a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote, and will be responsible for marketing and managing roadway design and transportation projects of varying size for FDOT and other clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Marketing and managing roadway design and transportation projects
  • Assisting discipline and area leaders in building the transportation engineering practice
  • Mentoring roadway/highway staff
  • Coordinating with discipline key task leaders and staff to ensure ongoing communications
  • Performing quality control on deliverables
  • Monitoring and meeting project deliverable schedules and budgets
  • Supporting marketing and business development initiatives
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum ten years of relevant experience
  • Professional registration (PE) within the field of engineering with the ability to obtain a Florida PE within 6 months
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and overall quality control and schedule management
  • Ability to track individual project tasks and financial management of individual and overall project tasks
  • Ability to market and maintain positive and trusted relationships with clients, staff, and subconsultant partners
  • Strong supervisory skills leading multiple teams and people, and established client relationships/marketing and business development experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent experience with and knowledge of FDOT policies and procedures
  • OpenRoads Designer/3D modeling experience
  • Safety and complete streets project experience
  • Complex interchange design experience
  • Experience in a project management and administration role on complex transportation projects
  • Working knowledge of Bentley highway design programs
