Primary Care Physician

Mission Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Primary Care Physician to join our team. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our patients, including routine check-ups, health screenings, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
Responsibilities:- Provide ambulatory acute, chronic, and preventative medical services to patients in accordance with Community and National Standards of Practice and DHHS/DHCS guidelines.
- Provide continuity of care for hospitalized and referred patients according to Health Center protocols.
- Provide consultation, supervision, and preceptorship for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
- Provide leadership and guidance for support staff, volunteers, and trainees in day-to-day clinic functions.
- Adhere to the highest standards of medical practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
- Support process improvement initiatives that enhance Team Based Care and PCMH recognition.
- Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families.
- Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients and order studies, tests, and ancillary services.
- Document all services in the patient medical record and complete billing/charges within 48 hours of the visit.
- Participate in Quality Assurance activities as designated/needed by the supervisor or the CMO.
- Fulfill all Medicare/Medicaid and Health Plan credentialing and re-credentialing requirements.
- Attend Health Center medical or departmental meetings as directed by CMO.
- Consult with specialists and hospitalists/residents regarding outpatient referrals and patient course if hospitalized, according to Health Center protocols.
- Graduate from an accredited medical school.
- Valid California Practice License.
- Current DEA registration.
- Board certified or Board eligible or residency trained in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Osteopathy.
- Current BLS certification.
- Professional clinical experience in specific area of practice for at least one year as Physician preferred, but not required.
- Spanish fluency is helpful, but not required.
