Job Summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled Middleware Administrator to join our Enterprise Applications division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of our Biztalk environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure and reliable solutions for customers using the Microsoft BizTalk platform.
  • Manage enterprise-level Biztalk applications, configure adapters and pipelines, and develop orchestration solutions.
  • Monitor performance, manage message routing and system security, and resolve technical issues.
  • Identify the end-of-life of software, research future middleware solutions, and plan for automation continuity.
  • Develop and maintain purpose-based documentation, including high-level diagrams and technical system schematics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, technology peers, and other departments to identify opportunities and drive growth.

Requirements

  • Experience administrating BizTalk Server 2016 and Apache ActiveMQ.
  • Knowledge of patching and upgrading Microsoft software such as Windows Server.
  • Understanding of PL/SWL (Oracle) and Transact-SQL (Microsoft).
  • Skills in developing software using.NET framework (C#, VB.NET); XLANG/s (Biztalk), Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL); Powershell, Visual Studio, and XML.
  • Knowledge of source code control procedures (Git, bitbucket, TFS).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of backup, restoration, and disaster recovery principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP Networking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in applications/systems administration, including specific experience with the type of system being administered (ERP, CRM, CAD, etc.).
