Job Opportunity

Halo Industries, Inc. is seeking a senior process engineer to develop wafer fabrication processes for its initial pilot production line. The ideal candidate will have experience with wafer-cleaning processing equipment, including immersion tanks, ultrasonics/megasonics, and brush-based cleaning equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing wafer cleaning processes to meet customer needs and maintain production processes
  • Collaborating with 3rd party suppliers to evaluate best-in-industry cleaning practices for SiC wafers and determine roadmaps for process improvements
  • Conducting hands-on experiments to optimize performance, cost, and throughput of wet bench and brush-based cleaning processes
  • Responding to customer feedback and identifying opportunities for quality improvement
  • Developing robust quality control procedures to ensure the highest standard of cleanliness is maintained for all customer shipments
  • Analyzing metrology data from defect and particle measurement tools to ensure process is running properly and troubleshoot sources of contamination
  • Ensuring a safe work environment by maintaining tool health and actively identifying any chemical safety hazards
  • Working creatively and cross-functionally with other teams at Halo to make process improvements and identify sources of contamination originating from other processes

Requirements

Preferred Education & Experience

  • The ideal candidate is an MS or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience (or BS with 5+ years of relevant experience) in engineering, science, or a related discipline

What We're Looking For

  • Outstanding detail-oriented analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically to diagnose issues and optimize complex processes
  • Experience with a variety of wafer-cleaning processing equipment, including immersion tanks, ultrasonics/megasonics, and brush-based cleaning equipment
  • Extensive experience with chemical safety procedures around wet bench equipment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a proactive 'can do' attitude

Bonus

  • Strong data analysis or programming skills using software such as JMP or Minitab
  • or a language such as Python or Matlab
  • Experience with statistical process control in a high-precision manufacturing environment
  • Experience with design-of-experiment methodology
