Your Role

We are in search of a seasoned Geotechnical Engineer with over 5 years of experience to enhance our Maryland/Virginia Geotechnical Engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Oversee a diverse range of projects while ensuring compliance with client and organizational standards for safety, quality, timelines, and financial constraints.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in fostering business development and nurturing robust client relationships.
  • Effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to accurately assess their requirements.
  • Formulate detailed scopes for geotechnical fieldwork and analytical tasks.
  • Coordinate and manage projects of varying sizes, benefiting from guidance and support from senior technical personnel.
  • Supervise field investigations, sampling, inspections, analyses, and technical operations with a focus on safety.
  • Prepare or evaluate geotechnical designs, reports, and calculations as necessary for projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • A degree in civil engineering (geotechnical or structural) is preferred.
  • A valid Professional Engineer (PE) License or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Familiarity with software such as gINT, Lpile, SlopeW, Settle 3D, Slide, and CAD is advantageous.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the office is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Physically capable of meeting the demands of construction site activities, including lifting and handling testing equipment.
  • Willingness to travel within Maryland and surrounding states is required.
  • Strong analytical skills in areas such as soil and rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, construction support, soil improvement techniques, and stormwater management.
