Position Summary:Reporting directly to the Floor Manager of Entertainment Productions Services, the Convention A/V Technician will be responsible for:
- Executing audio-visual room setups and breakdowns according to detailed specifications.
- Assisting clients with general A/V inquiries (microphones, laptops, projectors, power, etc.).
- Establishing power requirements for conventions and banquets.
- Installing event lighting for stages, general sessions, and decorative purposes.
- Operating basic audio mixers, lighting controllers, and Crestron control panels.
- Managing A/V systems for meetings and events.
- Maintaining a daily log of assigned tasks.
- Informing the Floor Manager or Floor Lead of any equipment or labor changes related to events.
- Collaborating with the Shop Manager to ensure the organization of the EPS shops.
- Diagnosing and repairing faulty equipment.
- Promoting teamwork and fostering cross-departmental relationships.
- Prioritizing safety and adhering to departmental and company safety protocols.
- Ensuring the department delivers outstanding customer service and production quality.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in large-scale convention entertainment or live event settings.
- Current OSHA 10 General Industry Safety card is mandatory.
- Knowledge of rigging is advantageous.
- Experience with lighting console operation and programming is a plus.
- Familiarity with digital audio consoles is beneficial.
