About the Role

At Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Excellence Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Business Excellence team, you will play a critical role in driving the transformation of our organization through the implementation of AGILE 4.0.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the deployment of AGILE Operational Excellence (OE) across various areas of the organization, including Fractionation, Purification, and Engineering Maintenance. This will involve collaboratively planning, building skills, and driving the deployment of elements of the AGILE Operating System (AOS) to achieve strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent AGILE in manufacturing as the contact for improving operations and mindset.
  • Use AGILE methods and tools to lead the site strategy to achieve transformational goals faster.
  • Identify opportunities aligned with strategy, making these visible, building the business case, and leading and coaching teams to achieve outcomes.
  • Connect and collaborate with global, regional, and OpU groups to bring Good Practices to the site and share them with others.
  • Develop skills in AGILE methods and tools, leading implementations, and becoming a coach in one or more elements of AGILE OE.
  • Become an approved Global OE coach to deliver workshops and lead implementations.
  • Become a role model in AGILE mindset, manage change, and demonstrate main skills in root-cause problem-solving, 5S, Standard Work, Visual systems, and Leader GEMBA.
  • May be assigned work in other AGILE streams, such as Digital or People, Culture & Change.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in Manufacturing, Lean, and Six Sigma.
  • Background in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma.
  • 2+ years of experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Soft skills: Communication, Leadership, Teamwork, and People Management.
  • Lean: Ability to run workshops, Gemba walks, and Tools implementations.
  • Six Sigma: Ability to conduct and lead Rapid DMAIC workshops, teach, and coach the tools.
Working Conditions

As a member of our team, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. You may also need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

You will work in a cold, wet environment and may be required to work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours. You may also be exposed to chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers, and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

You must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and work in a variety of environments, including clean rooms and cool/hot storage conditions.
