About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Custodian to join our team at the State of Connecticut. As a key member of our Environmental & Facilities Custodial Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our custodial crew, ensuring that our facilities are clean and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of custodial staff, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement procedures for cleaning and maintaining facilities, including scheduling and assigning work orders.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that facilities meet our high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Respond to emergencies and unexpected situations, such as spills or equipment malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that our facilities meet the needs of our employees and visitors.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in custodial work, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to lift moderate to heavy weights and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
