Company Overview
Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) is a cooperative established in 1916, dedicated to serving dairy farmers across multiple states. With approximately 1,600 members, MMPA is the 10th largest dairy cooperative in the United States, employing around 320 individuals across Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Ohio.
MMPA is responsible for marketing nearly 5 billion pounds of milk each year to various fluid milk customers and food ingredient manufacturers. The cooperative operates two manufacturing facilities in Michigan and a cheese production plant in Indiana, producing a range of dairy products including butter, ultra-filtered milk, powdered milk, cream, and condensed skim milk. These products are utilized by numerous food manufacturers in creating popular items such as candy, ice cream, pudding, baked goods, cheese, and yogurt.
Position Overview
As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in managing daily orders, coordinating pickup schedules, completing necessary documentation, and delivering exceptional service to our clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and input customer orders while considering specific customer requirements.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the order process from entry to cash collection, ensuring all follow-up actions are completed.
- Provide post-sales support by addressing billing inquiries, issuing certificates and product statements, and initiating quality complaint procedures.
- Monitor communications and respond to customer inquiries promptly.
- Gather information from customers to understand their unique and general needs.
- Identify and resolve issues as they arise, utilizing knowledge and experience.
- Proactively anticipate potential problems and devise solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Support colleagues within the department as needed.
- Carry out additional tasks as directed by supervisors, sales teams, and customer service management.
- Ensure consistent enforcement of policies and procedures among team members.
- Keep track of inventory levels relevant to order fulfillment.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and sales teams.
- Communicate effectively with customers, sales departments, and other internal teams.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify customer issues and provide updates on observations and trends.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Experience with order entry systems is essential.
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of supply chain processes.
- Fundamental math skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as telephones, faxes, scanners, and printers.
