Conductor Trainee

BNSF is seeking a Conductor Trainee to join our team in Grand Forks, ND. As a Conductor Trainee, you will play a critical role in supporting the movement of essential products and materials across the country.

• Obtain, receive, and act on information through various devices, including oral and written communication.
• Monitor and report daily work, including climbing on/off equipment, managing hand brakes, and interpreting signals for train movement.
• Operate track switches and derails to change train routing and check switch points for proper alignment.
• Conduct train and equipment inspections, including switching and spotting cars, determining train make-up, and inspecting cars per federal regulations.

• Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now and in the future.
• At least 18 years of age or will be by the start date.
• Ability to report for duty at the designated work location.
• Able to work safely in diverse and extreme weather conditions.
• Able to work at various heights above the ground, including on locomotives, railcars, and other equipment.
