Key Responsibilities

Deliver instruction for both undergraduate and graduate level courses within the mechanical engineering program, participate in research initiatives, secure funding for research projects, guide undergraduate scholars, and supervise research candidates at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels. Additionally, contribute to departmental committees and engage in community and professional service.


We are interested in candidates with expertise across all domains of mechanical, materials, or manufacturing engineering, particularly in the areas of thermal materials science, energy systems, experimental thermal-fluid sciences, renewable energy, energy storage, and nuclear energy. Candidates with a focus on materials science and advanced materials and structures are also encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications

A doctorate degree from an accredited institution in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline is required by the commencement of employment. Candidates must demonstrate the capability to fulfill the essential functions of the role.

Effective communication skills and the ability to foster and maintain productive working relationships with faculty, students, administrative staff, and the public are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the doctoral degree, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution is preferred. Previous teaching experience or postdoctoral research experience is advantageous.
