Key Responsibilities:
1. Underwrite and produce new and renewal business from designated agents and brokers in the primary line of business.
2. Achieve financial targets including premium volume, loss ratio, and expense management through effective business acquisition and retention strategies.
3. Collaborate with a team of colleagues and key internal/external stakeholders to drive business success.
4. Manage a portfolio of accounts with minimal supervision, effectively assessing and underwriting both performance and non-performance bonds.
5. Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with agents, brokers, and clients to support business objectives.
6. Plan and execute regular travel to enhance relationships with producers and accounts, ensuring thorough preparation and follow-up documentation.
7. Communicate the mission and objectives of the company in a professional manner during account meetings, fostering trust and partnership.
8. Ensure accurate documentation and information management within account systems, maintaining integrity and compliance with company standards.
9. Evaluate bond forms and contract documents to assess associated risks.
10. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters as needed.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of a 4-year degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 7-15 years of experience in the Surety industry or related fields is required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and regulatory documents.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the capability to produce clear reports and correspondence.
- Ability to develop sound recommendations for new and existing accounts based on thorough analysis.
- Proficiency in using various automation tools for effective information management.
- Self-motivated with a strong customer focus and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
