Essential Responsibilities:
  • Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, principles of responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
  • Assemble patient trays with appropriate food and supply items according to menu specifications.
  • Operate dish machine effectively to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation of items washed.
  • Wash and sanitize pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.
  • Clean food service equipment and surfaces.
  • Transport food items and carts to and from nursing units or other food service locations.
  • Inventory and prepare food items for display in cafeteria service area.
  • Ensure adequate level of supplies, food, snack, and beverage items for customer needs.
  • Serve cafeteria customers.
  • Assemble, fill, and clean food service equipment.
  • Prepare and assemble appropriate quantities of food products according to instruction for use in cafeteria, catering, vending, and patient feeding areas.
  • Deliver food and supply items to patients according to prescribed diet and patient desires within specified time frames.
  • Store items in appropriate locations.
  • Rotate perishables appropriately.
  • Maintain various logs.
  • Prepare and assemble food and supplies for catered events.
  • Deliver catering items to meeting locations within specified time frames.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate standard quantity food service equipment (e.g., dish machine, food processors, mixer, chopper, slicer, steam table, tray conveyor) required.
  • Knowledge of quantity food service preparation techniques required.
  • Must have good communication skills and ability to work well on service teams.
Notes:
  • Schedule work hours will be per week.
  • Varied locations, varied hours, varied days, and varied schedule.
  • Position may work every weekend.
  • Locations include Zion, SDMC, SMMC, and CM/MOB.
