Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist/Chemist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory instruments, monitoring experiments, making observations, calculating and recording results, and developing conclusions.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments, monitor experiments, make observations, calculate and record results, and develop conclusions.
- Perform all manufacturing processes in accordance with GMPs, SOPs, TM safety rules, and production schedule.
- Under general supervision following SOPs and special test designs; analyze test data and complete required documentation.
- Perform QC/equipment maintenance, understand lab safety involving potentially infectious bio-waste, and be a team player.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis of raw materials, monomer, polymer, and suture products.
- Support QA test method improvements.
- Team member in the QA chemical laboratories to provide backup test analysis for the QA chemical laboratory team.
- May investigate testing abnormalities and implement corrective action.
- Perform analytical testing special projects by supporting the development of new methods and test transfers and performing investigative test analysis as required.
- Assist with validation and test methods and test correlations.
- Train QA chemical technicians to perform new QA test methods.
- Clean and maintain production areas and equipment according to procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a degree, GMP, GLP, FDA, RCRA, and OSHA knowledge, and be familiar with basic scientific principles and have had some laboratory experience. They will be able to follow written direction and maintain a laboratory notebook, have good communication skills, and be computer literate.
This is a 7-month contract position.
