Job Title: Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Staff Today Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to our clients.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for conducting initial mental health evaluations, assessing inmate needs, and making treatment recommendations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to build rapport with clients, and possess strong leadership qualities.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including criminal, psychological, and substance abuse case history
  • Assess inmate needs and make treatment recommendations
  • Provide crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, and face-to-face interviews
  • Identify relevant signs and symptoms of psychiatric disorders
  • Apply psychological assessments in the selection, administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychological tests
  • Write clinical reports regarding diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment plans
  • Consult with supervisors, treatment team members, and CDCR institutional healthcare personnel
  • Document all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and IOTT meetings
  • Monitor inmate progress using SOAPE FORMATTED PROGRESS NOTES
  • Apply community standard of practice for the selection and implementation of psychological treatment modalities
  • Perform mental status exams (MSE) in face-to-face interviews
  • Examine prior mental health records, institutional chromos, probation reports, court records, and other available documents
  • Establish collaborative ties with community programs, groups, agencies, board and care homes, etc.
  • Conduct mental health education and develop additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender inmates/wards
  • Assist patient-inmates/youths in applying for entitlement benefits (SSI), community programs, and services
  • Participate in IDTT meetings
  • Compile and analyze data from audits pertaining to the mental health program requirements
  • Provide information to support staff for data entry
  • Provide written reports and consult with the Board of Prison Hearing and other CDCR staff
  • Provide relatives/caregivers with information concerning patients in person, by phone, or by correspondence only after receiving the inmate's signed release of information for that specific individual
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with patient-inmates/youths, families, and caretakers
  • Represent the department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters
  • Maintain order and supervise the conduct of persons committed to the correctional facility
  • Give input and help implement new programs for the treatment, training, or rehabilitation of patient-inmates/youths
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1-year previous working experience within the last 36 months (3yrs) as a Psychologist
  • Must be proficient in the English language and be able to communicate effectively
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
  • Must have the required licenses, permits, and/or certifications in the state of CA
