About the Role

Chipotle Mexican Grill is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Data & Analytics team, you will play a critical role in shaping our data strategy and ensuring that our data solutions align with our business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Cybersecurity, and other Tech teams to design and implement data solutions that meet our long-term IT strategy and architectural standards.
  • Develop end-to-end data solution designs, from high-level concepts to detailed technical specifications.
  • Lead the development of a data strategy that maximizes the value of our data assets and drives business growth.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for data architecture design and delivery, ensuring that our data solutions are scalable, secure, and meet our business needs.
  • Train and coach team members on data architecture standards and best practices, ensuring that our data solutions are consistent and of high quality.
  • Investigate and analyze data sources to identify relevant information for inclusion in our data solutions.
  • Own vendor relationships for our data solutions and stay up-to-date on the latest product releases.
  • Lead the Architecture Review Board committee and facilitate discussions to ensure that our data solutions meet our architectural standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in data architecture, with a strong background in data warehouses, data modeling, data mining, ETL, and in-memory models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to different levels of leadership.
  • Proven ability to influence and empower individuals and teams.
  • Proficient knowledge of modern data architecture, including Snowflake, Azure, and other cloud-native data services.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, responding quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.
  • Must be able to adapt to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Expert knowledge of data modeling, documentation, and governance tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrated human relation skills to effectively interact with peers, subordinates, internal and external customers, and vendors.
  • Sophisticated analytical skills related to cost/benefit analysis of large dollar hardware and software implementations.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
