Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients to create tailored care strategies.
  • Develop treatment plans with specific, measurable objectives, engaging patients and their families in the process.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
  • Maintain precise documentation and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with various departments.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing performance and ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Stay abreast of continuing education opportunities and provide training as needed.
  • Perform modified barium swallow studies, analyze results, and deliver prompt feedback.
  • Ensure treatment areas and equipment are maintained in a safe and hygienic condition.
  • Provide accurate billing information, adhere to insurance requirements, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families regarding speech and language disorders.
  • Efficiently manage any additional assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Experience in speech-language pathology is preferred, particularly with young children.
  • Knowledge of adult speech issues, including stroke and dysphagia, is beneficial.
Education:
A Master's degree in speech-language pathology or an equivalent qualification as per NYS regulations is required.

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Completion of necessary clinical training and NYS licensure or limited license is required.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA is preferred.
  • Consideration for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is available.
Other:
BLS Certification is required.
